Black Combe Walking Festival in Millom, Haverigg, Duddon Valley and Eskdale.
Black Combe Walking Festival - 25th May to 2nd June 2013
Join us for nine days of guided walks and talks at the gateway to the Western Lake District. From Wainwrights summits and valley explorations to coastal rambles and nature trails, our walks are led by local volunteers keen to share their enthusiasm and knowledge of this beautiful corner of Cumbria.
Black Combe is one of the Lake District’ most iconic fells, its distinctive shapeisoften the first peak visible across Morecambe Bay from the M6. Between sea and mountains, from its summit you can see the kingdoms of England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man on clear days. This area has inspired many of Lakelands great poets including William Wordsworth and Norman Nicholson.
On this site you can find everything you need to know about the festival, book places on walks and details on places to stay in the area.
